China Blocks Any Commemoration of Tiananmen Crackdown

Thursday 04 June 2009 Beijing - China blanketed Tiananmen Square with police and security forces on Thursday, blocking any attempt to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the deadly crackdown on mass democracy protests. Organizers said that about 150,000 people joined the vigil pictured above in Hong Kong.
