Service and Reward
Ken Coons
Future generations then
Could benefit and live in peace
Without the heartbreak and the woe
They'd know just how and where to go
To see their life and joy increase.
Ignorance without a doubt
Is public villian number one,
Though man may not know of the source
The law of life is still enforce,
And it has power over all that's done.
There are laws that govern life
And love and health and happiness,
If you live contrary to the code
You'll walk a rough and troubled road,
And you'll not taste of true success.
Putting it in simple terms,
The Master law that governs all
Is mightier than any sword,
It deals with SERVICE AND REWARD.
By this law one will stand or fall.
Yes, we say, I know that's true,
I've heard it many times before,
But then we go our merry way
And give no thought to it each day
And fight the same old daily war.
Somehow we were not impressed
With how the law effects our goal ,
So picture now in great detail
A giant apothecary scale,
And from each arm their hangs a bowl.
'SERVICE' has been marked on one,
The other bowl is marked 'REWARD',
For these two bowls will represent
The way our every day is spent,
If lived in love, or in discord.
Placed into the service bowl
Is how we think and talk and act.
The world will match it in return
And put into the other urn
Our just reward that's based on fact.
If your life seems rather bleak
And your reward seems rather small,
Evaluate your service then
And chances are it hasn't been
A life to make you proud and tall.
Whether seeking wealth or fame
Or happiness and peace of mind,
If it's to last throughout the years
It may require some sweat and tears
Through service rendered to mankind.
There are many ways to serve,
But find the one that suits you best,
Then heap the service bowl up ,
Rewards will fill the other cup,
Start now and put it to the test.
