Aid and Abet
Ken Coons
Yet my knowledge seems less.
When asked for advice I can only suggest what I might do.
But that may not be the solution that's good or best for you.
For I haven't walked the very same path
With my foot in your shoe.
I no longer try to influence a soul in my belief,
For I may be wrong and my teaching may cause you pain and grief.
For if I disturb your freedom of thought
I'd be worse than a thief.
So if in the past my conviction was strong and I was bold,
And I did offend with my know it all ways that seemed so cold,
I'm sorry for that, and hope you'll forgive,
And no grudge will you hold.
But if you persist, and still pick my brain for my reply,
Be ready to hear of some truths that may shock and tear your eye.
Consider perhaps the answers come not
From a man, such as I.
