The Dark Side Vs. The Light Side
There are several mechanisms to upgrade us as 'instruments to measure/experience' God. We can upgrade individually or as a group. As we upgrade, we become closer to be able to experience God more fully.
What's happening here it seems is the upgrading of physicality on a very large scale. After that there will be another round of experience until physicality is again upgraded. As physicality is being pulled in closer to God...this is the 'inbreath'.
God has created companions...to be separate and yet part of him. We will not be 'absorbed back' there is no need.
Illusion is not to be dismissed as having no value. Physicality is within spirit. If it were not real...spirit would not be real either. God is using very powerful tools, including parodox,to experience what is to be God.
Physicality is a process...the state we are in now is not all that is or all that can be. 'Maya' is a perception/experience of physicality in a having no purpose and as being 'unchanging and complete'. The gift of this idea is perhaps...this there is no purpose is 'staying put', there is always a greater you waiting to happen.
About Elohims: I have encountered the term Elohims in different contexts....from extra-terrestrial groups to angelic energies. I have not thought a lot about that topic. Will scan records, sources and references. Will get back to you about this.
