Health and Wealth
Ken Coons
His death bed crying out,
"I'd give my millions to be cured
Of cancer and of gout."
Shallow thinking I believe,
This odd philosophy,
For why choose one, and sadly view
The other hopelessly?
Everyone wants health, it seems,
We see it as a friend,
Though we live contrary to its cause,
We seek it to the end.
Keep your riches, many say
I'll do with out the strife.
I just hope I am blessed to live
A long and healthy life.
Wealth is not an ugly foe
One should fear or eschew.
If fairly got, and wisely spent
It's sure to comfort you.
If your wealth still troubles you,
And my philosophy
Still helps you not, then pack it up
And send it here to me.
