ce."

The old man said, "Maybe God is in the park. I'd like to talk to him, too, about why he's made me useless." And so they set off together to find God. When Timmy began to cry about the divorce, Abe lovingly held his face in both hands and looked him right in the eyes. "Timmy, I don't know why bad things happen but I know you are going to be okay."

"I'm sure."

On the walk back, Timmy squeezed Abe's hand and said, You're not useless; you're wonderful." Right after they parted Timmy's mother ran up and said, "Who was that old man?"

"I think he's God," Timmy said.

"Did he say that?" the mother demanded.

"No. But when he touched my face and told me I'm going to be okay I could feel in my chest and my tummy that he was right. I think only God can do that."

When Abe got home his son asked, "Where were you?"

"I met God in the park" Abe said.

"What makes you think you met God?"

"Because he sent me a boy who needed me and when he squeezed my hand I knew I wasn't useless."
