s event in our history and should be respected as such.

As we enter the Canyon on the eve of June 19th, we must be mindful of its sacredness by honoring the land and all living creatures and plant life there.

Reverence, appreciation and honor must reign throughout the course of our stay in the park. We ask that we all keep silent except for the singing, chanting and sacred sounds, as much as possible.

We are encouraged to bring our sacred sound instruments to play and share as part of the celebration, such as, flutes, drums, didgeridoos, singing bowls, etc.

Sacred sound is to play an integral part in this Solstice Celebration and is most

engouraged and welcome.

Each of the three days, June 20-22, we will begin with a sunrise meditation. What transpires beyond this is up to spirit. In meditation and throughout the three days, we may choose to focus upon our true nature as Children of God, the One Universal Spirit of us all, our equality and love of each other, or perhaps upon blessing and thanking Mother Earth. We will know...........

At this stage of the planning, we are asking for your suggestions as to the type and order of events, or even if there should be specific events, such as people performing their sacred sounds for everyone. This is about us coming together as a group, bringing our diversities and honoring those diversities, and perhaps agreeing upon a specific focus of our collective energy.

We feel that Spirit will play the true role in organizing how the days will unfold and that all that is required for us to do is be present with love and honor in our hearts for each other and the planet.

We ask that you read the monthly updates, as we will be adding information as it is received.

We thank you for your willingness and generosity of spirit as you prepare to participate in this Grand Sacred Sounds for the Summer Solstice Celebration.

The celebration is being held in the Chaco Culture National Historical Park. For park information, such as fees, camping and maps, go to www.nps.gov/chcu.
