Jousting between US White House and Fox News could easily be a losing issue for Obama

US pundits are quoting the old tag: “Never pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel.” Interim White House communications director, Anita Dunn, explains Obama’s refusal to appear on Fox News: "Fox News often operates either as the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican party. We're going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent."
But there is another bigger issue subtending this Obama-Fox row which Alexander Cockburn does not address in his Counterpunch article. On Friday 11th September 2009, a substantial portion of the Pandora's suitcase documents were supplied to Glenn Beck at Fox News. Some of these explicitly documented geopolitical financial crimes and Treason by Obama. They also detailed intelligence and contractual connections between the US President and a foreign power - the City of London Crown Temple.
A major broadcast was scripted. Rupert Murdoch and scores of Fox News executives and journalists were in on the contents. The Fox News programme was subsequently pulled at the last minute after White House legal blockages, death threats and bribery. On Wednesday 30th September 2009, the official White House website Briefing Room blog (here) took the unusual step of attacking Glenn Beck personally.
