Bill Rescinding 22nd Amendment Limiting Presidential Terms
From Tom Atlee
If you like what you've seen so far from the present ruler, and you like what's projected for the future (see http:www.ProjectforaNewAmericanCentury.org ), you might want to call your representatives and urge passage of this bill. You have probably already been heartened by recent grumblings and accusations now directed toward Syria and Iran, either one or both of which might soon be found to need correction or, possibly, regime change.
If you don't like what you've seen so far from the Bush Administration, you may want to urge that the resolution not be passed.
Either way, let me clarify one point: the resolution itself cannot change the Constitution (those pesky controlling forefathers!). If the resolution is passed, it will then need a 2/3 ratification by both houses [followed by ratification by the legislatures of 3/4 of the States].
This is so good, actually, because if you go one way, then it passes, and you change your mind, you can switch and urge voting the other way! Maybe, when you think about it, our forefathers did think of just about everything.
Good luck to us all - whatever our views!
