In yet another shadowy gathering of delegates to the RNC Convention this July, the Cruz and Kasich campaigns benefited from an electronic voting system put in place by the state GOP. The problem is, the numbers simply don’t add up.

“Our state button was checked more than any other and yet our people are not getting in. There is a serious issue with the way this whole thing went down, it’s some new electronic system,” said Jeff DeWit, Donald Trump’s Arizona campaign chairman. “Our people that we submitted, in many cases, the names were not showing up…We are asking for a revote.”

Mr. DeWit went further, saying the Trump campaign intends to litigate the issue in pursuit of a statewide re-vote. In response to Mr. DeWit’s protestation, Arizona GOP Party Chair Robert Graham defended the electronic system claiming transparency; stating it was tested and fully vetted prior to the convention.

Regardless of the Cruz/Kasich/establishment GOP’s continued attempts to steal delegates away from the Trump Campaign, all 58 Arizona delegates to the RNC Convention in Cleveland this July are bound to vote for Mr. Trump on the first ballot. Therefore, Mr. Cruz would have to miraculously survive a first ballot to benefit from his Washington insider tactics in a second ballot vote.

Former Arizona governor Jan Brewer, a Trump supporter who was in contention to become a GOP delegate, said Arizona voters had been “cheated” by the state convention delegate results. “The people of Arizona got cheated. I got cheated. And the Trump delegates got cheated,” Brewer said.

As it stands now, Mr. Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, is ahead of Sen. Cruz in the delegate count 996 to 565, a difference of 431 delegates. Gov. Kasich has only gleaned 153 delegates, placing fourth in the delegate count under Sen. Marco Rubio who has suspended his campaign. Gov. Kasich has failed to meet the eight-state-win requirement to qualify for any ballot.

Many in the pundit, analytical, and media spheres are starting to question Sen. Cruz’s integrity; his fidelity to a campaign based on castigating the status quo and political tactics of Washington insiders, or the Cruz-coined “Washington Cartel.” While they acknowledge that Sen. Cruz may be within his legal right to lobby for delegates to a second ballot, many are citing his hypocrisy in using the very tactics and connections he condemns.

In the end, the likelihood of a second ballot at the Republican National Convention is scant. Mr. Trump needs only 241 more delegates to lock-up the nomination. With 502 delegates left to be awarded in states that heavily favor the Trump Campaign, that threshold is within reach. Which begs the question, how are the Cruz and Kasich campaigns not causing great damage to the cohesiveness to the Republican brand by creating such mean-spirited division among the GOP faithful?
