THE PUPPET

There was a man who would be president,
With help from wealthy men, and millions spent.
His charm and eloquence, and promises made
Bedazzled millions, and his plan was laid.
*****
Nice coins were made with his bright smiling face,
And postage stamps, for others to embrace.
The promises made, as you very well may guess
Were never kept, and our freedom was less.
*****
His cabinet was filled with wealthy ones,
And those who put him there now owned his buns.
Payback can be a very nasty bitch
When you are dealing with the mighty rich.
*****
But those lowlife and souless ones should know
The God still reigns, and He still runs the show.
And all the evil ones will weep and wail.
Then love, and peace, and freedom shall prevail.
