Let the Branches Breathe
The cherry leaves turn orange
their pale pink to green to sun fire path
in the falling month of November.
Each stem of each leaf
slowly letting go
with a golden surrender.
Winter is coming for us all
as Earth burns through her autumn.
How we let go to the flame
will feed the ground
and let the branches breathe
for the spring that is surely coming.
