Filled with Light
The trail has always led to this place,
the infinity of threads and bread crumbs,
wanderings and journeys by our many ancestors,
their struggles and failures and sacrifice
to find their way through us to this place,
this moment, now. The Earth is trembling,
Her surface and structure realigning;
governments shudder, all precedents fail.
Fear and anger whip the people
but these ancient tools are proving futile.
There is no turning back from this ledge,
the security of the incremental no more
as the irresistible invitation of the quantum
urges us to leap forward into the unknown,
to be both particle and wave, creator and creation,
to let this place of passion and consequence
long foreseen but only ours to embody
be filled with the brilliance of light.
