The Inaugural Morning
Expectation grows full like the moon,
the cup filling with dreams and visions,
spilling over into the night sky of what may come.
Kneeling at the altar of imagination
we reach into the darkness of tomorrow
letting our inner fire spark the womb
of possibility, of creation, of kindness.
Perhaps the Earth will awaken again to our touch,
perhaps the long trance will be over,
all of this contained in the inaugural morning
beckoning us from our solitary sleep.
