The Palmetto State, more popularly known as South Carolina, seems to want to forever own the title of being the most ignorant and uneducated state in the Union.

Its Attorney General, Alan Wilson, reiterated this embarrassing fact during a recent press conference over a proposed medical cannabis bill, where he non-ironically declared cannabis to be the “most dangerous drug” in America.

Parroting the nonsensical propaganda of South Carolina’s corrupt law enforcement head, Mark Keel – who every year for the past several has brought in a band of his deputy thugs to the Columbia statehouse to decry the “dangers” of medical cannabis and intimidate its advocates – Wilson is of the hilariously misguided persuasion that the many unsavory slang words that have been used over the years to describe cannabis somehow represent solid “proof” that the plant isn’t a real medicine.

“They use words like stoned, high, wasted, baked, fried, cooked, chonged, cheeched, dope-faced, blazed, blitzed, blunted, blasted, danked, stupid, wrecked – and that’s only half the words they use,” Wilson stated with a straight face alongside Keel and various other anti-cannabis tyrants who control South Carolina.

“Are these consistent with something that describes a medicine?” he added, in total seriousness.

The vast majority of South Carolinians support medical cannabis, but their “conservative” leadership says no way – only Big Pharma is allowed

With some of the highest rates of opioid abuse in the nation, accompanied by bottom-of-the-barrel rankings in education and many other metrics of civilized society, South Carolina could use a healthy infusion of plant-based medicine. And polls show that most South Carolinians – regardless of their political affiliation – are in full support of medical cannabis.

100% organic essential oil sets now available for your home and personal care, including Rosemary, Oregano, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Clary Sage and more, all 100% organic and laboratory tested for safety. A multitude of uses, from stress reduction to topical first aid. See the complete listing here, and help support this news site.

But the state’s “conservative” leadership is digging its heel in the sand against it, regardless of public support, dredging up antiquated, disproven, and completely absurd arguments about its “dangers” – as if the government should be in charge of dictating which plants people are allowed to grow and use for their own health benefit.

“The results from Benchmark Research shows that 72 percent of 400 South Carolinians polled support legalizing medical marijuana, including 84 percent of Democrats, 78 percent of independents and 63 percent of Republicans,” reports The State.

Conservatism and cannabis prohibition are completely antithetical – what’s wrong with the police state South?

One would think that conservative politicians, like those in South Carolina who claim to support limited government and maximum freedom and liberty for all citizens, would be fully on-board with medical cannabis – or really any type of cannabis, seeing as how it’s just a plant. This would presumably include conservative Christians, whose holy text, the Bible, clearly states that cannabis and all other seed-bearing plants were given to humans by God as a gift.

But it turns out that the exact opposite is true in South Carolina, as well as all throughout the so-called “Bible Belt,” which continues to engage in police state tyranny against the people’s God-given right to access natural medicine.

How plant prohibition is consistent with “conservatism” in these states remain anomalous – especially when the same Biblical texts that provision for the use of plants as food and medicine also prohibit the use of pharmaceutical drugs, declaring sorcery (pharmakeia) to be evil, and a disallowing factor in people gaining access to the kingdom of heaven.

“I heard so many absurd statements today that I lost room writing [them] down on here,” Republican Representative from Beaufort, and the man spearheading the effort to pass comprehensive medical cannabis legislation in South Carolina year after year, told local media. “It’s like we traveled in a time warp back to the 1950s.”
