ADD YOUR NAME: Kick Monsanto Off Campus!
I’m writing to ask you to sign a petition in favor of extending a temporary glyphosate ban at the University of California.
TAKE ACTION: Ask University of California President Janet Napolitano to make all UC campuses glyphosate-free and all-organic by 2025! Then, join the national Herbicide-Free Campus campaign.
Whenever students join a movement, they provide a huge boost to that movement’s mission. In fact, the level of student involvement is often an indicator of how successful a movement will be.
In the 1960s, Students for a Democratic Society and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee energized the peace and civil rights movements.
Today, campus organizers are the driving force behind the Sunrise Movement’s success in getting politicians to address climate change.
That’s why we’re so excited to share with you a success story about the burgeoning movement to kick Monsanto off campus and create herbicide-free and organic universities.
In May, thanks to the inspiring work of Herbicide-Free UC, University of California President Janet Napolitano declared a moratorium on the use of Monsanto-Bayer’s glyphosate-based herbicides at all ten UC campuses.
Napolitano also set up an Herbicide Task Force to consider the possibility of phasing out these toxins altogether.
In November, the Herbicide Task Force is expected to make its recommendations to President Napolitano who will then have to decide whether to leave her glyphosate ban in place when she retires from her post next year.
It’s time for us all to speak up in favor of kicking Monsanto-Bayer off campus permanently at the University of California—and eventually, off campuses across the nation.

Thank you!
