Conservative radio legend Rush Limbaugh offered listeners an update on his battle with cancer calling every day a “gift.” The icon was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in February but has been facing the battle with strength and resilience. While updating listeners on his health Limbaugh said, “Every day remains a gift. You know, I wake up every morning, and I think God I did.”

Though Limbaugh is doing well despite the circumstances the radio icon told listeners he would most likely be forced to take some days off in the future for “rest” or other unforeseen “medical challenges.”

Townhall reports:

“But the fact that I’m able to get back here and be with you is a genuine blessing, and I appreciate it and I appreciate your understanding throughout all of this,” he added. “As we say, everything’s day-to-day, and especially in the circumstances I find myself in.”

The radio host, who was awarded the Medal of Freedom during President Trump’s State of the Union address this year, wanted fans to know that on days he has to take off, he wishes he could be with them: “And that when those days occur, that I will do what I can to get back as quickly as is possible.”

Limbaugh told listeners his strength now rests in his faith in Jesus Christ.

“I try to remain committed to the idea what’s supposed to happen, will happen when it’s meant to,” he said. “I mentioned at the outset of this — the first day I told you — that I have personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is of immense value, strength, confidence, and that’s why I’m able to remain fully committed to the idea that what is supposed to happen will happen when it’s meant to.”

Since Limbaugh’s diagnosis in February there has been an outpouring of support for the radio host.

President Trump tweeted, “Many people do not know what a great guy & fantastic political talent the great Rush Limbaugh is. There is nobody like him. Looking for a speedy recovery for our friend!”

When the day comes, Rush will be sorely missed.

Every other announcer wished to one day fill Rush’s shoes, but it will never happen.

The Bible parable that Jesus told of the three servants and their use of the talents that their master gave them is a fitting tribute to Rush. We all have a time to arrive and a time to depart. May we please our God and use our talents so we can hear those words, “Well done good and faithful servant.” God forgive and guide each of us. Is my prayer in my savior Jesus the Christ name.

I’ve been listening to the great Rush since 911.

Have learned so much.

Wish him a complete and speedy recovery.

Always praying for him and his family.

He’s a great powerhouse of political information and there’s no other like him!

From our family to his, our best wishes always.

He voice for conservatives and freedom has been a blessing. Praying for his recovery.

So many people have been lost recently, including family members. I’ve lost family this year. With the way the country is going, sometimes I wonder if God is taking these warriors home so they are saved from what is coming. My God be with Rush and everyone during these trying times.

His recovery will be in eternity through his God-given belief in Jesus Christ. All tears wil be wiped away from his eyes when he no longer has to wake up to lying, cheating, stealing, murdering people who are out doing the devil’s work to destroy Christ’s Creation. O that we could all be there. Come Lord Jesus, come.

False. Absolutely false. It is that exact mindset which has thrust us into the situation we now find ourselves. If either or both of them are lost in one form or another, we pick up the mantle and carry on because we’re can-do type people!

Rush is the very first nationwide talk show host that I ever listened to because of his laser point views and delivery of the truth! I only pray that he be made well and recovers fully.

I love the Lord Jesus, I love my family, I love Rush, I love my country. I have truly been blessed & have learned so much from Rush. Rush has given us so much, we must learn to exercise what we have learned. Stand up for what you believe in, share with others what you believe & why you believe it. Stand up for what is right, what is true, be the real you. An extra blessing is to spend eternity with my Lord, Rush & many other great men & women & to be able to talk with the men & women of the Bible. Wow! Makes me want eternity to come quickly.

Rush, I cannot add much to the loving and laudatory comments penned below. Please know that I will miss you, if/when you depart us, as much or more than all of them. I am glad that I lived in the time of Rush Limbaugh and I am able to take advantage of his wisdon, virtue and discernment. Thank you so much, Rush.
