The Supreme Court just denied a bid from Republican attorneys general to revive former President Trump’s “public charge” rule. Texas AG Ken Paxton led the charge to bring back the order.

Last month President Biden rescinded the immigration rule. The rule made it more difficult for immigrants to obtain green cards if they were going to rely on government assistance like Medicaid or SNAP (food stamps). (per The Hill)

In a brief order on Monday, the Supreme Court told the GOP attorneys general that they could seek to fight the ruling at the district court level.

“After the District Court considers any such motion, the States may seek review, if necessary, in the Court of Appeals, and in a renewed application in this Court,” the unsigned order reads.
