Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes could hold the key when deciding who wins the election. Both candidates have spent a considerable amount of time and energy campaigning in the Keystone State in an attempt to win over voters. Both Trump and Biden held events in the state over the weekend and plan to make appearances on Monday as we head into the final hours of the election.

Pollsters have predicted that Biden has held a considerable lead over incumbent Donald Trump but recently that lead has shrunk. In 2016, President Trump won the swing state on a thin margin, helping secure his victory over Hillary Clinton.

A Monmouth University Poll released Monday shows Biden with a seven-point lead over Trump in a “high turnout model” and Biden with a five-point lead in a “low turnout model.” Biden’s lead has shrunk since a similar poll released last month had Biden with an 11-point lead in a high turnout and an eight-point lead in a low turnout.

According to Fox News:

In the poll released Monday, among all registered voters, 50% support Biden and 45% back Trump. Also, 1% support Libertarian Jo Jorgensen and 4% are undecided or won’t reveal their vote.

“All eyes have been on the Keystone State from the start. Pennsylvania voters may have responded more than most to key events, such as the conventions and the debates. This potential for movement is one reason why both campaigns have spent so much time there,” Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute, said in a statement.

The Monmouth poll was conducted by telephone from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1 among 502 registered voters. It has a margin of error of +/- 4.4 points.

Now, it seems that the state may be decided by 10 swing counties. While mail-in ballots may be counted for days after November 3rd these counties could indicate whether the state will go red or blue.
