Thousands of birds were detected on Doppler radar taking a flight just 20 minutes before the M5.4 earthquake struck on september 3, 2016?

On September 3, 2016, a 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred near Pawnee, Oklahoma at about 7:02 a.m. And parallely, ~15 minutes before the earthquake, the Doppler weather radar data saw a rapid increase in the size of the radar echoes near the radar and also the intensity of those echoes.

It was obvious that birds are the likely reason for the increase of size and intensity of the radar echoes at that time.

The video

shows the Doppler radar during earthquake. The large growth in echoes is birds taking off. What is interesting is that it appears that birds starting flying about 6:47, yet the 5.6 earthquake occurred at 7:03. What do they know that we do not know?

Did birds have some premonition that an earthquake was coming and start to fly 20 minutes before the earthquake happened?

For comparison sake, here are some pictures from radar captured the day after by Mike Eilts. Weather was nearly the same on both mornings, so it didn’t play a major role.

Here is the video:
