11-20-22 In wildlife reserves across Africa, small, specially trained teams of rescue dogs sniff out poachers and sound the alarm. Just 10 dogs have helped arrest hundreds of poachers, saving countless elephants being murdered for their ivory. In the Serengeti, almost a quarter of the elephants now live in the tiny area the dogs protect -- but poaching is on the rise everywhere else and there are thousands more elephants that still need protection. That’s why the team behind this amazing project is asking for your help to train more dogs and double the number of sites where these sniffer dogs are working -- and save double the number of elephants, not just in the Serengeti but well beyond. With 96 of these gentle giants killed each day, every moment counts.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netMass Animal Die-Offs

4-16-22 It used to be a big deal to spot just one bald eagle—let alone a whole flock of them all perched in the same tree. A few years ago, America’s national bird had dwindled to far fewer numbers. Yet one photographer in Red Wing, Minnesota, last month snapped a sight for sore eyes: literally dozens of bald eagles all perched in trees on the shoreside along the Mississippi River. Tim Alms captured the majestic moment on camera. 4-13-22 Released documents also show White House 'lied' about the problem There were a numbers of stories back when Joe Biden first moved into the White House about his dog, Major, biting people. The official claims by his administration were that the dog "nipped" someone first, and that was because the animal was "still adjusting to his new surroundings." Then he bit another, and a White House employee was taken to a medical unit for treatment. Finally, when the government declined to release details that should be available to the public, the Washington watchdog Judicial Watch filed a public records lawsuit over the fracas. TRENDING: The Dems' despicable strategy to minimize midterm losses Now the organization has obtained hundreds of pages of records and what they reveal is an animal that was dangerous to nearly any new person it encountered while living at the White House.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netYour Pets Can Experience the Negative Effects of EMFs Too – Learn Why, and How You Can Mitigate Their EMF Radiation Exposure
http://www.fourwinds10.net/siterun_data/environment/plants_and_animals/news.php?q=1648491164
3-28-22 Electromagnetic field radiation (EMF) is the electromagnetic energy that emits from all electronic devices including cell phones, laptops, and tablets. By now we’ve all heard of the harmful effects that chronic, daily exposure to EMFs can have on the human body, but have you ever wondered whether or not they are affecting your pets in the same way? The bottom line is that the answer is yes. Although there has been fewer studies on the health effects that come from EMF exposure in pets specifically, most of the significant lab studies ARE done on rats, which are animals. If scientists can accurately extrapolate evidence from rats to humans, the same can go for other mammals. There are thousands of studies in the scientific world that have found that long-term, constant exposure can cause a number of adverse health effects.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netWhat Is It About Cows?

3-26-22 What is it about cows? It seems we were created to live in harmony with these gentle mothers… to be co-dependent. How else can we explain the historically proven phenomena that persons who live closest to the cows are often the healthiest and strongest of their society? Over 300 years ago, country folk wisdom observed that young ladies, whose job it was to milk the family cows, were immune to the deadly smallpox epidemics. While others were dying of the feared smallpox, the milkmaids could safely tend to the sick and yet not contract the illness. It seemed like magic! As you can imagine, milk maids were highly sought after young women. Not only were they healthier, they were also prettier.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netInvasive spiders that grow to size of child's hand expected to parachute down into U.S. this spring

11-4-21 WASHINGTON—The first study to methodically calculate how much food blue whales and some other similar-looking types eat has yielded a simple answer: a whole lot. The blue whale, the largest animal on Earth, eats about 16 tons of krill daily in the North Pacific, gobbling up these tiny shrimp-like crustaceans with a filter-feeding system in the mouth using baleen plates made of keratin, the substance found in people’s fingernails, scientists said on Wednesday. “That is roughly the weight of one fully loaded school bus,” said study co-author Nick Pyenson, curator of fossil marine mammals at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington. The researcher’s calculated daily food intake for seven baleen whale species, tracking 321 individual whales in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Southern Oceans from 2010 to 2019. These gigantic marine mammals were found to eat up to three times more food than previous estimates that were based on stomach contents of hunted whales or extrapolations from smaller marine mammals.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netMom fights off mountain lion with bare hands, frees age 5 son as animal mauls him in front yard

It’s a very frustrating problem, but there’s a compelling reason you may not want these species to disappear entirely: Many invasive plants have surprisingly important medicinal benefits. Invasive species are non-native plants that spread aggressively and can put the survival of native species in jeopardy. However, that does not mean that they can’t be useful. Indeed, some species that are considered invasive in one area may be revered for their qualities in other areas.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netRed tide kills tons of fishes in Florida

5-21-21 You know what is more accurate than a PCR test for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19)? A dog’s nose, according to a new study. Researchers out of France claim that canines are more effective at screening for viruses than laboratory tests that, quite frankly, are being manipulated to further the Chinese Virus agenda. Sniffing dogs are also more effective at detecting viruses than fast lateral flow tests (LFTs), scientists say, having the ability to detect the presence of the Wuhan Flu with upwards of 97 percent accuracy. How they determined this is unknown, but a trial conducted back in March and April at France’s national veterinary school and at the clinical research unit of Paris’ Necker-Cochin hospital found that dogs are capable of detecting both “positive” and “negative” cases of the virus better than the tests the government has been pushing. A recent review of 64 different studies found that LFTs correctly identify about 72 percent of people who are infected with the virus and show symptoms, along with 58 percent who do not.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netBesides causing cancer in humans, Roundup also kills bees

The researchers came about this finding after scouring the web for information on the online reptile trade from 2000–2019. In total, 79 percent of all reptile species up for sale are not subject to regulations under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). This anti-wildlife administration has turned its backs on negligent behavior by "reinterpreting" bird protection laws to excuse industry-caused bird deaths as long as those birds weren’t killed on purpose.
