Hero poodle saves girl from pit bull attack
A poodle was nearly killed protecting a young girl from a pitbull attack.
Now the family is trying to save that pet's life.
Bobo the poodle instantly became a part of the Gongora family. Each year their bond grew stronger. Especially with 11-year old Nissa.
"We got really attached to him," Nissa said.
And Bobo did too. His loyalty and love seen in his actions. Especially his latest one.
"He was very very brave. He was very brave," Adriana Gongora, the dog's owner, said
It was Valentine's Day when Nissa stepped out of her mother's car. And into a dangerous encounter with a stray pit bull.
"He was charging at me. Like running and he was growling," Nissa said.
Nissa screamed and called out for her mother. But to her rescue came Bobo, all of nine pounds of him. Now between her and that pit bull, Bobo was ready to fight to the death.

Bobo gave a good fight- but the pit bull's bite-- too strong.
"He would go away for a little while and then he would come back and start chewing on Bobo again," said Nissa.
It was then Adriana grabbed a chair to fend off the pit bull. Bobo left bleeding and crying. He was rushed to the vet.
"I was really sad and afraid that he wasn't going to make it through," said Nissa.
"I just kept holding i was holding him that day and it was very very hard for me to hold," Adriana said.
After surgery, Bobo is now recovering. The Gongora family spent almost every dime they had even Nissa's college money for the vet bill.
It was the least he could do.
"He was willing to give up his life for any of us," Adriana said. "So we had to do that same for him. We had to find a way for him."
Bobo is expected to be released from the vet this weekend.
