In just one second something can happen that has the potential to create change. If you are ready to take action, just one second, can be all it takes to get change started.

At Triple B we were there and ready. In just one second a video was captured that showed a federal Judge the truth of just how far the BLM was willing to go to justify their actions. Judge Howard J. McKibben gave us the first Temporary Restraining Order and later Preliminary Injunction in history against BLM conduct at wild horse roundups.

Gaining the ability to have our Preliminary Injunction awarded happened in one second. We won another decision in a 4 year long fight for First Amendment Rights to view and document government handling of wild horses. The win in one case gave us the "case law" we needed to win in our other!

In just days we were able to gather data at the Snowstorm wild horse Herd Management Area.

In just days after BLM announced the roundup, we filed litigation. Just days later BLM cancelled the operation.

After days and days of trying to work with BLMs Winnemucca District in Nevada on issues at Jackson Mountain all it took was one second to tip the scale.

Babies were being stampeded in June during foaling season in what BLM claimed was an emergency at Jackson Mountain. BLM allowed livestock to continue to graze. BLM failed to listen to reason as those babies began to die. Just days later we were granted a Restraining Order holding BLM only to an area of emergency. This case could prove very important as tensions increase between livestock and wild horses.

A case in point is the Nevada Association of Counties (NACO) lawsuit against our wild horses. We have been granted Intervention to speak for the wild horses and have filed documents with the court. We are gathering data to fight any further action.

As we stood in the bitter cold of the Owyhee desert watching wild horses being repeatedly shocked with an electric prod, foals struggling and falling behind in exhaustion in just one second we caught wild horses being run through barbed wire.

After trying to work with BLM failed yet again, we filed more litigation that lead to another win. Again we won strong legal language against inhumane conduct. The Owyhee case has moved forward. The case also addresses BLM's lack of data to determine "excess," the "flashpoint" for a roundup that removes wild horses from therange forever and places them in government warehousing where we have more wild horses than exist in on the range.

Wild horses are at risk of slaughter as political pressure mounts that can change their fate in an instant. In just one second the publication of an investigation we did with Pulitzer prize nominee, journalist Dave Philipps, that showed 1700 wild horses shipped (at tax payer expense) to one kill buyer alone. That investigation sent ripples through the BLM and to this day they have not released any formal statement on an investigation, although they changed their "sale policy" to only allow 4 horses to be sold to one person in 6 months (with an exception clause of course). We must be ready to act. In just one second political pressure could send thousands of wild horses to ther death.

We must be ready to create the changes needed to protect our wild horses and burros from abuse, slaughter and extinction.

Any second now the USFWS will announce final plans on removing the last of the Sheldon Mustangs. Our active litigation awaits to see if Sheldon Mustangs will be sent once again to those that may ship them to slaughter.

Any day now the BLM will announce a roundup schedule. We must be ready to go any second.
