This is Red. Last month, Red, his seven family members and 15 other mustangs were captured from their homes on Nevada's Virginia Range by the state Department of Agriculture.
They are being held at the Carson City Prison and will be sent to a slaughter auction if we are not able to raise the funds to save them.
The Dreamcatcher Wild Horse and Burro Sanctuary in California is willing to take Red and his family and keep them together for life...if we are able to raise an endowment for them. Otherwise Red and his family will be broken up and put in jeopardy.
We can't turn our backs on these horses. If we don't take them, the state will send them to a livestock auction, where they will be in danger of being purchased by kill buyers for slaughter.
That's why we're organizing a prison break and we need your help. But time is running out.
Thank you for your compassion and concern.
