It would be very helpful for those of us "without klout" - to know what we can do to help. A phone number to call, or something else to do. I don't even know what CEQA is, however, would like to help if possible.
Many Blessings,
Troika

The last of the Shastina wildlands is being threatened~
CEQA has approved/exempted the tree cutting of 8 acres of old growth juniper forest. Unless they are stopped, trees will be cut with “fairly even spacing of 30 to 40 feet. The residual trees will be pruned up to 5 to 6 feet. Habitat will be stomped.
This is the last bit of habitat left to the Great horned Owl, the Spotted owl, the Bald Eagle and unnumbered other wildlife.
CEQA filed the exemption on July 29. We have 12 more days to file in Superior Court addressing environmental concerns. It states in the notice that there are “no watercourses with in either of the treatment areas”. The slopes however drain directly into Lake Shasta at the dam.
Please request more info if you can help--- anyone who has connections or knows anyone with klout that can help--please let us know.
