SeaWorld Entertainment is determined to hide the truth about orca documentary “Blackfish” — even if it has to resort to intimidation and censorship to do it.

After sending furious op-eds to critics who praised the film, SeaWorld is now threatening to sue Magnolia Pictures for claiming their parks are destroying the whales' psyches and putting trainers at risk — and with every overblown reaction, we see more and more evidence that those claims are probably true.

Tell SeaWorld to stop intimidating critics and drop plans to sue Magnolia Pictures.

We know why SeaWorld is so scared. This obsessively researched documentary shows how forcing intelligent, sensitive animals used to swimming hundreds of miles a day to live in cages and perform mindless tricks is cruel to them and dangerous for us — and no amount of Shamus dolls can change the fact that one of the park’s orcas has already killed three people.

SeaWorld should be working on helping these whales, not silencing the truth about what’s happening to them. If we let them know that mass intimidation campaigns will only give more attention to the film, we can get the truth out before more orcas have to suffer — but if we stay silent, we’re putting both their lives and their trainers’ at risk.

Thanks for all that you do,

Claiborne and the rest of us.

Keeping orcas in captivity is driving them crazy and putting trainers at risk — but SeaWorld will do anything, including intimidating critics and suing documentary filmmakers, in order to keep that secret buried.

Tell SeaWorld to stop its mass intimidation campaign against Magnolia and the makers of "Blackfish."
