Iceland is back to killing whales -- and the death toll of these beautiful endangered creatures just keeps rising. We need hard-hitting sanctions now!

It's time for Iceland to pay a price for its illegal slaughter of whales.

Tell Interior Secretary Jewell to recommend that President Obama impose tough economic sanctions on Icelandic whaling companies.

Iceland has long defied the international ban on commercial whaling. It has killed hundreds of minke and fin whales since 2006 and exported millions of dollars worth of whale meat, blubber and oil to Japan and other countries.

In 2011, BioGems Defenders sent more than 100,000 messages to the White House urging President Obama to impose sanctions.

The President responded by enacting diplomatic sanctions. But now that Iceland's fin whaling industry has returned to business as usual after a two-year hiatus, it's clear that diplomacy alone has failed. Tougher measures are needed.

We must escalate pressure on Secretary Jewell immediately to recommend economic sanctions.

Make no mistake: Iceland is going to keep slaughtering whales unless it is made to pay a price.

Each day the Obama Administration waits to take action is a day the next whale could be killed. Please send your message to Secretary Jewell right now.

Iceland's fin whale hunt is back on. It's time for sanctions!

Stop Whaling Now!

Iceland has killed at least 17 endangered fin whales in the last few weeks. Tell Interior Secretary Jewell to recommend economic sanctions on Icelandic companies tied to the whaling industry. It's time to make Iceland pay a price for its rogue whaling!

Take action

Thank you for making your voice heard in defense of endangered whales.

Sincerely,

Frances
