URGENT: New attacks on wildlife...
Jamie Rappaport Calrk, Defenders of Wildlife
Extremists in Congress have once again unleashed a flurry of attacks on our wildlife and wild places -- and we need your help to stop them.
Struggling polar bears and rare Florida panthers -- along with hundreds of other vulnerable species -- would be stripped of vital Endangered Species Act protections due to a terrible amendment to the Senate's Farm Bill.
In the House, two monstrous bills would place endangered sea turtles and shorebirds in Cape Hatteras National Seashore at serious risk, allow destructive logging in Alaska's pristine Tongass National Forest and hand over millions of acres of public lands to dirty oil, gas and other energy development.
Right now, our legislative team is working hard on Capitol Hill to head off these extremely destructive, anti-wildlife measures -- and we're preparing to mobilize tens of thousands of grassroots supporters to take a stand for our wildlife and wild places.
Patrick, we can't stand by and let extremists in Congress sabotage protections for the wildlife and special places that you and I care deeply about.
Will you support our work with an emergency contribution right now?
Stop Congress's attacks on wildlife
Legislation in Congress would strip protections from polar bears and hundreds of other vulnerable species.
Together, we can ensure that our national treasures are protected for future generations.
Sincerely,
