URGENT RESCUE!:
These horses are not BLM horses, they are not Nevada State horses. They are wild horses that are privately owned. The origin of the horses is unclear but is thought to be mustangs typical to the area of the Pyramid Lake, North Fernley, Nevada. The local killer buyers will be there in force. Most likely the older mares and stallions will be sold in lots of 10 or 12 or more. Buyers will have to buy the entire lot of horses.
Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue attended this sale in July and saved 169 horses from the killers. We are still caring for these horses and trying to find them a permanent home. Therefore we are unable to take any of these mustangs but will try to help organize a rescue if funds and homes can be found.
Currently we have one donor who is willing to purchase as many as 50 of these horses if a permanent home can be secured for them after the sale.
Anyone who is willing to:
1. Give a permanent home to 1 or more rescued wild horses, or
2. Sponsor the feed and care of 1 or more rescued wild horses for a year or longer, or
3. Donate the funds to purchase horses from the killers @ $200 per horse,
