Censored! Cabela's hometown paper now refuses to run ad on wolf killing

That’s why, with your help, we’re upping the ante -- alerting the media and running our ad in two other newspapers: the larger Lincoln Journal Star and The Kearney Hub (hometown newspaper for one of the three Cabela’s store locations in Nebraska).

Please chip in today to help pay for these new, more expensive ad placements and help us save wolves and other wildlife.

More than 112, 000 caring Defenders supporters have already sent messages urging Cabela’s to stop sponsoring “predator derbies” that target wolves, many sharing powerful messages.

I’ve been particularly moved by the courageous and imaginative ways that Defenders like you are personally fighting to end corporate-sponsored wolf killing. Here are just two examples:

  • Last weekend, one Defenders supporter produced flyers about Cabela’s' deadly policy and handed them out in the parking lot of his local Cabela’s store in Portland, Maine. And this Saturday, he is organizing a protest outside that same store.
  • Another supporter ripped off the label of her Cabela’s jeans and mailed it back to the company. She also donated all her Cabela’s-labeled equipment to Goodwill (without the labels).

We’re getting the word out about Cabela’s sponsorship of wolf killing and how its funds are being used to block restoration of life-saving federal protections for wolves.

We will not be silenced. Please consider making an emergency donation right now to help run our ad and support other grassroots and public education efforts to save the lives of wolves and imperiled wildlife.

We’re taking on corporate-sponsored wolf killing. And -- with your help -- I know we can end it.

P.S. We have only a limited time to place our ad. You can make a secure donation online now or call 1-800-385-9712 to contribute by phone. If you can’t contribute today, please forward this message to a friend and help us find the support we need to change corporate policies at Cabela’s and protect wolves and other wildlife.
