Powerful Earthquake Strikes Japan Off Fukushima, Tsunami Warning Issued – Live Feed
A powerful earthquake, with a preliminary magnitude of M7.3 on the Richter scale, since reduced to M6.9 has struck Japan, 156 miles from Tokyo. The epicenter of the earthquake, which was felt in Tokyo, was off the coast of Fukushima prefecture at a depth of about 10 km, Japan’s Meteorological Agency said.

Reuters has just reported that the first waves of the Tsunami, measuring 2 feet have just hit Fukushima:

A tsunami of 60 cm (2 feet) reached Onahama Port in Fukushima, the first tsunami waves to hit the coast after a powerful earthquake struck northern Japan on Tuesday, public broadcaster NHK reported.
A tsunami warning of up to 3 metres (10 feet) has been issued.
UPDATE:
NHK is reporting 3 feet Tsunami has just reached Port of Soma and that the water circulation has stopped at the Fukushima Nuclear power plant. TEPCO says the stopping of the water circulation does to present any “immediate” danger. We have heard that from them before.

NHK is warning that the second and third waves are typically higher than the first waves.

Fukushima reactor cooling system stops following quake & tsunami
The cooling system of the third reactor at the Fukushima nuclear power plant has stopped circulating water following a powerful 7.3 offshore earthquake. TEPCO said it managed to restart the system some 90 minutes after the failure.

The cooling system servicing the Unit 3 spent fuel pool was not able to circulate water to cool the nuclear fuel because of a broken pump, according to the Nuclear Regulatory Agency.
The temperature in the pool went up to 29 degrees Celsius. It takes up to seven days for temperatures to rise to 65 degrees Celsius, which is the upper operational limit, Japan’s national nuclear agency said.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 has hit northern Japan, prompting authorities to urge residents on much of the nation’s northern Pacific coast to move to higher ground.
The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning for waves of up to 3 meters (10 feet) in Fukushima and another prefecture, and a tsunami advisory for much of the rest of northeast Japan’s Pacific coast.
