
5/20/2016 — Extremely rare large M6.1 earthquake strikes Central Australia
DUTCHSINCE
It has been many years since Australia has been struck by any noteworthy earthquake activity. The last earthquake of noteworthy size was a M5.8 which struck in 2013 approximately 140 miles (220km) to the Southeast.
A quick review of the earthquake epicenter shows open outback desert, and mountains to the South.
