Southern California coastline , just South of Los Angeles, be on watch / alert.
Media is reporting that thousands of people have called authorities about strong odors of rotten eggs or "natural gas" showing up along the coast of Southern California across Orange County, CA -- locations along the coast near Costa Mesa, Newport + Huntington Beach, Long Beach, + Balboa island.

Officials saying the gas smells are coming from "off the coast".
Natural gas "methane" has no smell on its own, and the oil / gas platforms out to sea do not add in Mercaptan to the gas. Mercaptan is added to natural gas + propane for human safety reasons.
The rotten egg smell must be coming from Hydrogen Sulfide gas, which is directly associated with volcanism, and tectonics (seismic unrest).
