Mike Schaff, resident: It’s probably going to take out Highway 70. The sinkhole is going to get probably 2 and half times the size it is now. Then you could look at loss of life.
Brittany Weiss, reporter: And that’s a reality that people on Bayou Corne may have to deal with, a second salt cavern could collapse. It’s forcing the company blamed for all this to go back on its word, saying things aren’t stable 2,500 feet below the ground. […]
A Texas Brine employee tells News 2 the road leading to a relief work site stared to dip months ago, indicating the problem below their feet was big. The employee says there’s a chance the salt cavern will cave in.
