Powerful 7.3 Quake Hits Near Sumatra No Tsunami Warning Issued

The Indonesian government has lifted a tsunami warning issued after a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Sumatra.
The quake hit at a depth of 29 kilometers, 420km south-west of Banda Aceh, the US Geological Survey said.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center had issued a statement saying that while a widespread tsunami threat did not exist, coasts near the epicenter could be affected by a tsunami.
