The first 300 people were evicted forcibly from their homes on Monday evening and Tuesday morning began the evacuation of the entire country. More than 200 people were accommodated in the school police in Vibo. Another ninety people will be placed in the sports hall of Vibo. Others will be brought in the sports hall of Monte Poro which can accommodate 400-500 people, but many evacuees have already found assistance at the home of relatives and friends.

Tons of ground cover that up until yesterday was a valley. The ridge has touched dozens of homes, endangering the buildings that are at the top and could slip to the valley where the landslide to resume moving. A real risk, since it has started to rain with some insistence. The landslide has a front of a couple of miles, swept roads and waterworks, so that the country is completely free of water.

"With Maierato is caving in the whole of Calabria.'s Not an exaggeration nor a novelty because they are the tears for other recent natural disasters", the alarm is the President of Calabria Agazio Loiero who is following the Emergency Task Force Civil Defence and Environment and Public Works departments. Loiero convened a special meeting of the Executive to declare a state of natural disaster and involve the government in immediate response to help people evacuated and rehabilitation projects. "The Region has launched a program of 800 million euros by identifying a set of priorities. - He explains - is a huge sum but not enough for the reality of the territory. Would be enough to deal with these natural disasters rather than the bridge over the Straits." (15:02:10)
