6.1-Magnitude Earthquake Hits New Zealand's Kermadec Islands

The quake hit the New Zealand territory, 915 km north east of Auckland at 12:58 p.m. New Zealand local time (0058 GMT) at a depth of 12.5 km.
No casualties or damage were reported.
No tsunami warning had been issued by the Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
The islands, which are often rocked by severe quakes, have no permanent population. Only a small New Zealand’s Department of Conservation team lives on Raoul Island.
