Flyover of Breaking Ice Shelf

A vast ice shelf, which covers an area of about 15,000 square kilometres (6,000 sq miles) is set to break off from the Antarctic Peninsula.

David Vaughan, from the British Antarctic Survey, says "it is hanging on by a thread".

Scientists report in the journal Nature that the continent is warming up in step with the global average.
