Girl Found in Rubble 42 Hours After Italy Earthquake

A Young girl was pulled alive from rubble in L'Aquila, 42 hours after a killer earthquake devastated the Italian town. The girl, named Eleonora, was conscious and still in her pajamas when rescue workers found her beneath the debris of a building. Her cries for help had caught the attention of rescue workers and she was pulled free by a team from Cuneo in the north of Italy to the sound of applause from bystanders.

 

 

 

The death toll has reached 235 while strong aftershocks rocked the Italian city of L'Aquila yesterday, raining fresh lumps of debris as rescuers pulled out earthquake survivors. The Government rushed to provide shelter for survivors, and police began patrolling against looters.
