TRONA, Calif. (AP) -- Two more small quakes struck California's Central Coast region Sunday but no damage or injuries were immediately reported.

HOLLY NOTE: As a reminder, though USGS maps label an event "Last Day", it may be as recent as 1 hour + 1 minute ago. Events designated as "Last Week" may have occurred as recently as 61 minutes ago. This "lump sum" dating often gives an inaccurate picture of the exact time earthquakes strike - always pushing the date back.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a quake of 4.1 preliminary magnitude hit at 5:03 a.m. Sunday, followed by a 3.0 temblor eight minutes later.

Both quakes were centered 14 miles north of Trona, 14 miles north-northeast of Searles Valley, 19 miles southwest of Telescope Peak, and 31 miles northeast of Ridgecrest.

Dispatchers in the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and the Ridgecrest Police Department reported no quake-related calls.

The quakes followed a series of others that shook the region early Saturday.

The U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude-4.1 quake hit the Ridgecrest area of Kern County shortly before 1:15 p.m. Saturday. The same area had a 3.2-magnitude quake at 3 Saturday morning.

Two earthquakes also struck the Salinas Valley along the Central Coast.

A magnitude-3.2 quake hit just before 5 Saturday morning and a second quake of the same magnitude followed two minutes later.

The quakes were centered near the town of Aromas and about 35 miles from San Jose.

A 3.0-magnitude quake struck the same area at about 10:30 Friday night.

The latest tumblor came after an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck off California's northern coast about 133 miles west of Eureka Thursday.
