Large 7.0 Earthquake Hits Off Japan Coast

A large 7.0 earthquake has hit off the Japan coast 190 miles NE of Tokyo. No reports of damage or fatalities have yet been reported. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has not issued Pacific wide alert. However, local surge or waves may have been created. A 5.3 mag. aftershock occurred 8 minutes after the major event.
More activity at the Cascadia Subduction Zone. Also Two more quakes have occurred off the Oregon Coast 11 minutes apart. The first measured a 4.0 mag. followed by a larger 4.7 event.
