Earthquake Hits Indonesia, Tsunami Warning Issed
Mitch Battros - EArth Chagnes Media
The US Geological Survey initially recorded the earthquake at a 7.3, then revised to 7.1 magnitude. The earthquake was felt in tall buildings in the capital Jakarta, where pictures swayed on walls.
But is this the one expected in relation to the 28 day event which surrounds every Full Lunar Eclipse?
My answer might be viewed as a political one-- -- "It could be". The fact is, the scenario does fit historical criteria, but I'll just say I have a gut feeling this is not it. There are too many events which still appear to continue to percolate.
As we have seen, several volcanoes have awakened or escalated, earthquakes occurring in unusual areas, but of most concern is the ongoing "swarm" occurring at Baja California. I am searching now to see when the last time a "swarm" went on for this long a period without a major event following. As to date, every swarm that lasted more than five days, and with magnitudes reaching 4.5 and higher, have ended with volcanic eruptions.
