It’s a fact: If tapped, a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick could power the entire country of Brazil for 44 days.

And now America’s favorite tough guy is harnessing that power to solve the country’s “crappy Internet” problem.

Norris, best known for playing the starring role in the television series, “Walker, Texas Ranger,” is making an appearance in a commercial for LiveTIM, a telecommunications company in Brazil, where the Internet connection speed is slow and videos freeze constantly.

The Internet is so sluggish, it freezes even Chuck Norris.

The following is Norris’ ad, which premiered on Oct. 27:

In the commercial, Norris is attacked by a gang of six brutes wielding wooden bats, lead pipes and heavy chains.

Typically, that wouldn’t be a problem for Norris, who is rumored to have once punched a man in the soul and is considered the leading cause of death among terrorists.

But just as viewers are about to see a Norris-delivered roundhouse kick – the preferred method of execution in 16 U.S. states – the action freezes.

Instead, the dreaded buffering wheel appears, and a disappointed father shouts, “Come on! Did you get on the Internet again, daughter?”

The girl replies, “Oh, Dad …”

He asks, “Couldn’t you wait?”

Another man tells the viewer, “And if your home’s crappy Internet can’t make it, upgrade it to LiveTIM, the fastest fixed ultra-broadband in Brazil.”

Filled with side-splitting humor, “The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book,” Norris gives readers not only his favorite “facts,” roundhouse-kicked by the man himself, but also the stories behind the facts and the code by which he lives his life.

WND was on the scene when the spot was filmed at Norris’ Houston, Texas, ranch in October. Norris has been writing a weekly column exclusively for WND since Oct. 23, 2006.

The commercial shoot coincided with a pow-wow with WND Editor and CEO Joseph Farah to foster a closer working relationship between the superstar and WND.

“Not everyone gets to see Chuck Norris in action – live, that is,” Farah said. “It was a treat to stay at the Norrises’ ranch where the filming of this commercial took place.”

Farah said he had expected the shoot would only take about an hour.

“Wrong. This was an all-day affair,” he said. “It was like a movie production – dozens and dozens of crew members, stand-ins, cast, etc.”

Farah also noted, “Having been around Hollywood for quite a few years, I can tell you that the stars are not always popular with the crew. That was not the case with Chuck Norris. He was warm and gracious with everyone and it was greatly appreciated. Of course, everyone wanted their picture taken with the international celebrity – including me.”

Norris’ career began not in movies, television or in the world of Internet trivia. The man who has employed martial arts in so many of his pictures first came to the world’s attention as a real-life martial arts star. He was a six-time undefeated World Professional MiddleWeight Karate Champion. He was also a renowned teacher in the martial arts, with celebrity students including Steve McQueen, Bob Barker, Priscilla Presley and Donnie and Marie Osmond.

He has gone on to found the United Fighting Arts Federation with more than 2,300 black belts all over the world. In 1997, Norris achieved another milestone in his life by being the first man ever in the Western Hemisphere to be awarded an eighth-degree Black Belt Grand Master recognition in the Tae Kwon Do system. This was a first in 4,500 years of tradition.

In his bestselling book, “Black Belt Patriotism: How to Reawaken America,” Norris provides real solutions for solving the nation’s problems, moving the country forward and changing its course for the better.

LiveTIM has a website where Brazilians can watch the Norris action and choose from three different endings to the story.

Visitors to the site may also send photos to their friends and determine who will be Norris’ “next victim.”

But viewers beware: Sticks and stones may break bones, but Chuck Norris’ glare will liquefy your kidneys.
