Turn up your volume so you can hear the air traffic controllers.

A fully loaded Russian IL-76 cargo plane...... payload 1 million pounds!!!!

Listen to the controllers in the tower who are Australian:  Ya gotta love it.

"The Vodka Burner" as the Aussies call it, literally uses every  inch of runway.......

WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO.. (shot from the tower) You can HEAR THE CONVERSATION IN THE TOWER. They are incredulous-- that it makes it. Good thing the guys in the back can't watch this takeoff.

Hi Patrick,

There's a significant error in your recent post entitled "FULLY LOADED RUSSIAN IL-76."

You should know that Russia's four-engined IL-76 cargo plane has a max payload of less than 200,000 pounds, not "payload 1 million pounds."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilyushin_Il-76#Specifications_.28Il-76D.29

Il-76D Specifications -- Empty weight: 159,000 lb -- Max takeoff weight: 346,000 lb.

********************************

However, Russia's six-engined Antonov AN-225, the largest plane in the world, DOES have a million-pound payload capacity:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-225

AN-225 Specifications -- Empty weight 385,800 lb -- Max takeoff weight 1,323,000 lb.

********************************

The cargo plane in the video has 4 engines, not 6.
