The chief of police in Ferguson has stated that his department is looking into bringing charges against the stepfather of Michael Brown, who was caught on video last week screaming at protesters to “burn this b**ch down” following the decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson.

Louis Head, was filmed [1] riling up angry mobs in Ferguson ahead of intense rioting and looting, during which several buildings and vehicles were burned by agitators.

Now Chief Thomas Jackson says that Mr Head could be charged with inciting a riot.

Appearing on Fox News, Jackson noted “We are pursuing those comments, and there’s a lot of discussion going on about that right now. But, I really can’t get into that at this time.”

He also noted that those responsible for looting and violence following the grand jury verdict will be identified, located and prosecuted “to the full extent of the law”.

Jackson also commented on the potential of perjury charges being brought against Dorian Johnson, the man who was with Brown when he was shot by officer Wilson, and testified that he had his hands in the air ready to surrender.

Jackson told Hannity “That’s going to be up to the Prosecuting Attorney’s office to look into that. we’re very focused on getting all the violent criminals that went through our community the other night.”

The police chief’s comments come in the wake of Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder calling for the arrest of Louis Head.

“He should be arrested and charged with inciting to riot,” the state Republican lawmaker said last week.

Also appearing on Fox News last night, Kinder said Head’s comments sounded like incitement to riot, but that “it’s a decision for the prosecuting authorities to make, it’s not my decision.”

Kinder also slammed President Obama for seeking advice on Ferguson from Rev. Al Sharpton. “I cannot imagine any previous American president of either party welcoming an inciter of mobs like Rev. Sharpton into the White House, into his inner councils for sober advice, you’re not going to get it from him,” Kinder said.

It also emerged last week via a source connected to police chief Jackson, that Mr Head is likely a member of the notorious Bloods gang [2]. Brown, himself was captured in several pictures flashing gang signs.

The revelations have prompted calls for further investigation, with many noting that it is certainly a relevant factor concerning the attitude and feelings Head and Brown may have held toward law enforcement officers.
