We all know that neonicotinoid pesticides are harming world bee populations. The science is alarming. Yet beekeepers still lost 44% of their colonies last year -- even more than the year before.
This massive die-off demands massive action. That’s why we’re joining forces with dozens of other organizations to deliver 2 million petition signatures to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) next week.
The only thing stopping the EPA from addressing this crisis is the powerful pesticide industry -- but 2 million signatures from us will force the EPA to act now.

The pesticide industry is set to become even more powerful with an unprecedented $62-billion mega-merger between Bayer and Monsanto, and that’s why we have to act now.
Bayer’s deadly pesticide is not only killing the bees -- a study published last year shows that it’s killing birds too. The EPA is the government body that can legislate to save them. The European Union has had a neonics ban for over two years now, and with our pressure, the EPA can enact the same type of ban in the United States.
Right now, corporations like Bayer, Monsanto, Syngenta, Dupont are pouring millions of dollars into campaigns to defend their toxic pesticides. Bayer alone has spent hundreds of millions dollars on its Bee Care Tour -- a PR stunt try to fix its tainted image amongst farmers and beekeepers. But luckily, thousands of SumOfUs members chipped in for a counter tour -- and we have a truck full of dead bees following Bayer’s tour to show what neonics are really doing to our pollinators.
At the end of the tour, a dozen partner groups are delivering our names to the EPA asking it to save our bees from Bayer’s killer pesticide. We have set our goal to 2 million signatures. Will you help us meet this goal?
