Big News: The EPA just released its assessment of the proposed Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, linking the embattled project to tar sands expansion and saying "the development of oil sands crude represents a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions." There's now more evidence than ever to support President Obama's promise to veto the KXL bill just passed by Congress.

Please urge President Obama to veto the Keystone XL now.

NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) -- Stop the Keystone XL Pipeline

As we expected, the new pro-polluter U.S. Senate just voted to force approval of the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. But here's the good news -- President Obama has promised to veto any legislation forcing approval of the climate-wrecking pipeline.

The moment of truth has come. It's time to stand by President Obama and let him know we've got his back in opposing the Keystone XL. Urge him to get out his veto pen and reject this big polluter boondoggle right now!

The Senate's outrageous vote -- a gift to Big Oil -- comes despite an avalanche of emails, letters and phone calls opposing the destructive pipeline from hundreds of thousands of Americans, including NRDC Members and online activists like you.

The fate of this climate-destroying pipeline now rests with President Obama, who can reverse Congress's misguided decision with one stroke of his pen.

Please tell President Obama he's got overwhelming public support to veto the Keystone XL -- and do it even if you've taken action against the pipeline before.

The Keystone XL would dramatically increase production of Canadian tar sands oil, one of the dirtiest fuels on the planet. It would endanger the American heartland, worsening our dependence on fossil fuels and accelerating climate change.

Please join me right now in urging the President to help secure his environmental legacy by stopping the Keystone XL.

Sincerely,

Rhea
