Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler will propose Net Neutrality rules next Thursday, and the FCC will vote on the rules on February 26.

And while there's every indication that he's going to do the right thing and reclassify broadband as a public utility under Title II, there's a very real risk that, under pressure from telecom companies, the rules will include dangerous loopholes that threaten the open Internet.1

We have to make sure that doesn't happen. We've come too far in this fight, and are too close to scoring a total victory, to lose at the last moment to Big Telecom's dirty tricks.

The FCC commissioners – especially Chairman Wheeler – are under tremendous pressure to cave at the last minute. In Congress, Republicans are pushing sham, loophole-ridden legislation that would strip the FCC of much of its authority to regulate the Internet in a last-ditch effort to stop the FCC from reclassifying broadband under Title II.

Predictably, at the center of this desperate effort are Big Telecom's lobbyists: CTIA–The Wireless Association, the top lobbying group for wireless giants like AT&T and Verizon, and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), which represents huge cable companies like Comcast and Time Warner Cable.2

We have to let the commissioners know that if they pass a strong rule, we'll go to the mat to protect it from Republicans in Congress who are doing Big Telecom's bidding. And we also have to be crystal clear that if the rule Chairman Wheeler proposes on Thursday is full of loopholes and handouts to industry, we'll raise hell.

This is the most important moment in this fight so far. Please take a few minutes to call all five FCC commissioners now.

Call the FCC commissioners: No loopholes! Pass strong Net Neutrality rules. Click here for a sample script and the number to call.
