Drop the Money Bomb on the GMA!

Dear Organic Consumer,

Food companies have a lot to hide. 

So much to hide, in fact, that they’re willing to spend millions to fight the little (and great) state of Vermont in court. Just so they can hide the truth about what’s really in the “food products” they sell. 

It’s time to drop the money bomb on the Grocery Manufacturers Association. So far, we have raised almost $195,000. Can you help us raise another $55,000 by June 30? On Thursday, June 12, Monsanto and the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) made good on their threat to sue the state of Vermont to overturn Vermont’s recently passed GMO labeling law.

It’s bad enough that the junk food giants (with more than a little help from Monsanto and the Gene Giants) have spent millions trying to defeat GMO labeling laws.

Now they are attacking not only consumers’ rights, but democracy itself, by attempting to overturn state laws.

Legal experts tell us we can win this key battle in Vermont. 

But it will take a crackerjack team of legal experts to do it. And crackerjack teams cost money.

I have personally devoted decades to this battle against GMOs, and for truth and transparency in labeling. What’s kept me going all these years, against such formidable, and well-funded, opponents?

You. The people whose lives are affected by Monsanto’s reckless and ruinous GMO agriculture. The people who have, time and again, demonstrated how passionately you believe in this fight.

I can’t stress enough how important it is that we defend Vermont. And win in Oregon. I believe we can win. But only if we prove to Monsanto and the GMA that our will to win is bigger than their war chest.
