Join the growing resistance to Keystone XL. Sign the Pledge of Resistance.

We just learned that the State Department -- which is supposed to be evaluating the impacts of Keystone XL -- doesn't even know the exact route of the proposed pipeline.1

Here's another thing we know: The resistance to Keystone XL is growing - and it's on the verge of getting a lot bigger.

Last weekend, activists came together in Los Angeles, Portland, Detroit and Washington, DC, for the second weekend of trainings for Pledge of Resistance Action Leaders. This week these organizers are back in their cities and towns, planning peaceful and dignified civil-disobedience actions that will be ready if the State Department recommends approval of the Keystone XL pipeline.

This is how CREDO, Rainforest Action Network and the Other 98% are building the Pledge of Resistance -- training hundreds of leaders who will lead tens of thousands of activists across the country in peacefully risking arrest if the State Department recommends approval of Keystone XL.

More than 65,000 activists have already pledged resistance to Keystone XL. But we need to make the resistance -- and our pressure on President Obama -- even bigger.

With President Obama acknowledging that Keystone XL will be decided based on its climate impacts,2 he needs to know that he'll face a massive fallout if his administration ignores the "game over for the climate" carbon pollution that Keystone XL will unleash.

If you are ready to join the growing resistance to Keystone XL, and are prepared to risk arrest if necessary to stop Keystone XL, add your name to the Pledge of Resistance now.

It's truly inspiring to see people across the country stepping up to draw a line against Keystone XL. Many have never done anything like this before -- yet tens of thousands are committing to risk arrest by taking the Pledge, and hundreds more are volunteering to lead Pledge actions across the country, enabling those tens of thousands to stand together and be prepared to risk arrest if necessary to stop Keystone XL.

It will take nothing less to convince the Obama administration to reject Keystone XL.

Based on the president's own standard that Keystone XL shouldn't be approved if it "significantly exacerbates" carbon pollution, he ought to reject it outright. Unfortunately, the review of Keystone XL's impacts is being conducted by an oil-industry contractor which found no significant climate impacts in its first sham review.3

Big Oil has played this game before. They expect to win. They expect that we will sit back as they treat unleashing the carbon bomb of the tar sands, and impending climate catastrophe, as an inevitability.

We need to send the message to President Obama that we will not sit back. That if his administration sides with Big Oil and recommends approval of Keystone XL, there are tens of thousands of people who are prepared to take action.

Help build the resistance to Keystone XL, and urge President Obama to reject it. Sign the Pledge now.

Thanks for fighting Keystone XL.
